Lady Bruins in Action

In this past week, the Lady Bruin basketball team took on two tough Morgantown teams.  They faced University on Tuesday and Morgantown on Thursday.

Brooke was the home team on Tuesday, hosting University High School.  The Bruins had a slow start, trailing by the score of 25-6 after the first quarter.  The deficit was too much to overcome, as the Bruins lost the game 84-34.  Freshman Angela Staffelino led the way for Brooke with ten points on the night.  Marena Cline had seven points, and Amber Govey and Kelsey Welsh contributed four points each.

Thursday’s visit to Morgantown wasn’t much prettier for the Bruins.  The Mohigans defeated the Bruins 72-26.  Angela Staffelino once again led the Bruins in scoring, this time with 16 points.  Kelsey Welsh scored four points, and Michaela Hinerman added three of her own.

Brooke is scheduled to take to the hardwood once again on Monday as they visit Indian Creek in an OVAC consolation pool play contest.
